Aircraft Crew Training 11.2.3.6, 11.2.3.7, 11.2.3.11 and 11.2.6
This training course is designed for flight and cabin crew members implementing aircraft security searches, aircraft protection and in-flight security measures
Training will result in all of the following competences:
- knowledge of previous acts of unlawful interference with civil aviation, terrorist acts and current threats;
- knowledge of the legal framework for aviation security;
- awareness of the relevant legal requirements;
- knowledge of the objectives and organisation of aviation security, including the obligations and responsibilities of flight and cabin crew members and/or persons implementing security controls;
- understanding of the configuration of the screening checkpoint and the screening process;
- awareness of access control and relevant screening procedures;
- knowledge of airport identification card used at the airport;
- knowledge of elements contributing to the establishment of a robust and resilient security culture in the workplace and in the aviation domain, including, inter alia, insider threat and radicalisation;
- knowledge of the configuration of the type(s) of aircraft on which the person is to implement aircraft security searches;
- ability to identify prohibited articles;
- ability to respond appropriately to the detection of prohibited articles;
- knowledge of how prohibited articles may be concealed;
- ability to implement aircraft security searches to a standard sufficient to reasonably ensure the detection of concealed prohibited articles;
- knowledge of how to protect and prevent unauthorised access to aircraft;
- knowledge of procedures for sealing aircraft;
- knowledge of procedures for challenging persons and of circumstances in which persons should be challenged or reported;
- knowledge of emergency response procedures;
- ability to protect flight deck during the flight;
- knowledge of procedures relevant to carriage of potentially disruptive passengers on board an aircraft, if applicable for the person to be trained;
- knowledge of handling persons authorised to carry firearms on board, if applicable for the person to be trained;
- knowledge of reporting procedures;
- ability to respond appropriately to security related incidents and emergencies on board an aircraft.

On successful completion of this course participants will be awarded an Aircraft Security Searches, Aircraft Protection, In-flight Security and Persons Other Than Passengers Requiring Unescorted Access to Security Restricted Areas Training certificate stating the competencies of 11.2.3.6 and 11.2.3.7 and 11.2.3.11 and 11.2.6 of the Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2015/1998 have been completed.
