11.2.6 Unescorted Access to Airport Security Restricted Areas

This training course is designed for persons other than passengers requiring unescorted access to security restricted

Training will result in all of the following competences:

  • knowledge of previous acts of unlawful interference with civil aviation, terrorist acts and current threats;
    • awareness of the relevant legal requirements and knowledge of elements contributing to the establishment of a robust and resilient security culture in the workplace and in the aviation domain, including, inter alia, insider threat and radicalisation;
      • knowledge of the objectives and organisation of aviation security, including the obligations and responsibilities of persons implementing security controls;
      • understanding of the configuration of the screening checkpoint and the screening process;
      • awareness of access control and relevant screening procedures;
      • knowledge of airport identification cards used at the airport;
      • knowledge of reporting procedures;
  • ability to respond appropriately to security related incidents

Who is this course designed for?

  • For staff working in shops and cafés in the security restricted area of the airport.
  • Employees providing aircraft repair services within the security restricted area.
  • Employees providing apron management services in the restricted area.
  • All other staff needed unescorted access to the security restricted area of the airport

On successful completion of this course participants will be awarded an training of persons other than passengers requiring unescorted access to security restricted areas certificate stating the competencies of 11.2.6 of the Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2015/1998 have been completed.
